Do VPN providers need to provide services in a non-standard way to bypass restrictions? Do you have to advertise your VPN services in secret, to avoid being blacklisted and blocked?

Wireguard has been great for me lately. Perhaps OpenVPN is more secure, but I wouldn't know the specifics.
