Thanks, I just requested access.
Would rather them just offer this at $2 per month with an account limit
I'm looking forward to its future progress.
How many access will be granted? How to prevent bots?
The most important is why Vultr offers this, now? Will DigitalOcean follow?
Time will tell outsiders.
MicroLXC is lovable.
Vultr is getting aggressive on marketing / PR these days.

according to their FAQs
It seems that the answer is in the FAQs, but it seems no actual facts in the FAQs.
One thing that for sure is FAQs of big giant companies well illustrate the uncertainty principle.

skip it,don't waste time.
I got $2.5 charged on my CC . Did anyone else got charged same and no account credit given
Currently Using Hetzner , OVH , Buyvm , Webhorizon , Hyonix , ConnectIndo
@VirMach will follow and @cociu said he is preparing something nice !
just applied, i always have some credits around in vultr since i always used them for "oh shit need an vps quick now", both cc and 2fa isn't an issue
Fuck this 24/7 internet spew of trivia and celebrity bullshit.
For everyone that created a fresh account: You can apply the coupon code FLYVULTR250 for $250 valid for 30 days. I already spun up a beefy VM with that credit while waiting
"Your Vultr Free Tier program request has been approved"
Yay!
mine just got approved also, so that is cool
I have applied but it doesn't look like there will be any response.
"Your Free Tier starts on 2023-03-09 and will end on 2024-03-09."
Huh... Free VPS is only for 1 year, that kind of sucks.
Your Vultr Free Tier program request has been approved
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC
Available in Miami, Seattle, Frankfurt.

Mine got approved as well.
Only one year and just these 3 locations? Was hoping for one more free VPS in the Sao Paulo... so I could backup my oracle free
Seattle.
Mine was approved. Sad to see it's only for 1 year, but I guess they're trying to compete with AWS. Oracle still has the leg up on them with their free offering.
Cheap dedis are my drug, and I'm too far gone to turn back.
tbh I prefer that. Not requiring CC means it gets abused and shut down.
Some random students without CC & people in wrong countries get caught in crossfire I know but with anything that has compute getting abused for crypto you kinda have to...
Mine also got approved and if your credit card is charged then it will get reversed within a week as per their support statement.
Currently Using Hetzner , OVH , Buyvm , Webhorizon , Hyonix , ConnectIndo
True, I am okay with that as well- just that it was not mentioned up front.

Did anyone find it written somewhere in their pre-signup docs that it only lasts a year?
Once you're accepted, you get the below;
Didn't see it pre-signup, but a year free is still good enough for me!
Syuh - SFTP Storage Pods from 50GB to TBs. UK, US and DE locations.
I agree free is good, and not aiming to be ungrateful, but a bit of transparency wouldn't go astray. They're soliciting people to sign up for an account and provide details because it "might" qualify you for a free service, but not disclosing the time limit.
