Ok since you already did it I dont need to try it since it's working so I will try something else.
Probably I will try pterodactyl panel or OpenVPN server. But since I'm busy with my studies lately (final exam will come in around 2 weeks!!!!), maybe I will post an update in this forum in a few days.

Windows 7 on Windows 10 on Linux, why?

Please feel free to go ahead and use the server heavily. Check what the other guys are doing first. Please post here if you want to "reserve" a large amount of resources.

Please install anything you want. If you break the server, don't worry, because breaking stuff is the best way to learn, and it's easy to reprovision the server.

Please let me take the occasion to thank you for your always courteous, always informative, and very helpful posts.

Thank you so much for granting me access to the server and for your kind words. I appreciate your trust in me and I will make sure to use the resources responsibly and considerately.

I will definitely check with the others before reserving a large amount of resources and will post here if necessary.

Regarding installing software, I will be mindful of not compromising the server's stability and security, and will seek your advice if needed.

Once again, thank you for your support and I look forward to working on the server. 😊

  • FYI, you can check the server load and resource usage here: http://fsn.metalvps.com:8000/latest.txt

Since this is a shared server, do "share" the resources and dont hog all to yourself. For example, if you are going off for the night, you may want to stop your "Windows VM" unless you are doing something on it. Small things like that help others who want to use the server.

    Hi Guys!

In addition to the usage kindly posted above by @somik we're down to 235G disk.

I am just about to add @H4N50. Let's assume @H4N50 wants 100G. That leaves 135G.

We could wipe the accounts of a few of the "paused" users, but maybe it's better to wipe and reinstall the server?

    oot@fsn ~ # df -h .
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
    /dev/md4 3.4T 3.0T 235G 93% /
    root@fsn ~ #

    Best!

    Tom

@H4N50 Good morning! I went ahead and made an account for you. It would be super great if we can talk some more soon. Note that, unless I missed it, you still didn't post anything about your education and experience. :( Watch out, cuz the server might be going down for a refresh soon. Not going away permanently, I hope. Please note low disk space. Kindest regards, Tom

    Hello again!

    1. How should the upcoming, refreshed i9-13900 server be set up?

    2. is it too crazy to imagine that some guys might want to pay something toward the € 89 monthly cost of renting the server from Hetzner?

    Thanks for your ideas! :)

    Friendly greetings! :)

    1 - No clue lol
2 - It's not crazy! Some people are kinda (like you) and give away stuff so some people decide to help keep it alive!

Also I want to forward the iGPU from the VPS to the windows 11 VM I have (KVM), any clue? Google wasn't helpful on this topic as most require the kernel to be changed which is impossible without root/restarting the server. If you know just let me know!

Your public key will automatically be selected if your using openssh-client for others, depending on the app, you may have to Google the solution. Shouldn't be that hard.

    Apologies I misread the question:

You can Google how to ssh into the VPS using your publickey for your specified app. E.G: Putty.

What happened? Did it kernel panick?

    Guys!

Hetzner's careful monitoring caught an outbound port scan coming from our i9-13900 server. Since we already were planning to reinstall the server, it seemed like the abuse issue could be most definitively and immediately resolved by taking the server offline. So I activated the rescue system.

To make sure that everyone understands, it was my decision to take the server offline. Not Hetzner's. Hetzner did not interfere with our server in any way. All Hetzner did was to send me their helpful notifiction. I am really grateful to Hetzner for doing a great job, not only with monitoring, but with everything else which could be expected from a top provider! Thank you Hetzner! <3

Please note that only the i9-13900 is offline. The i9-9900K still is up and functioning normally, as of a moment ago when I checked.

    Best wishes and kindest regards,

    Tom

Everyone please take a moment to reflect. @Not_Oles (Tom) is probably up to his arm pits in things to do at the moment (besides being clueless, and slow  ). So maybe it would be a good time to refrain from unnecessarily adding to his burden.

Note: Tom I normally refrain from commenting in your threads out of respect. I hope you will excuse this intrusion.

Yeah that would be pretty cool. You could always try setup a websocket chat VIA the terminal if needed.
