The Big List of Website Uptime Monitoring Services
Some days ago I had posted about Netumo - for uptime monitoring, then there are of course the LE* favourites- Hetrix Tools and Uptime Robot.
A couple of days ago some random surfing led me to similar sites, and I started writing a post on my blog about the uptime monitoring services. I came across several 'lists' from posts by KeyCDN, and other sites. Posting some of them here.
The below list includes Free, Freemium and paid services. With time, I will update and classify these services into these three categories, similar to the way I had done in my blog post on Webpage Builders.
As always,
- Suggestions to the list welcome and appreciated.
- If you have used any of the services in the list other than the "LE* favourites", please mention your feedback about them in the comments.

2. I am not a fan of classifying services based on price alone. But in the LE world, that could be used as a filter or starting point.
Comments
Nixstats. Been using it for a long time for TCP monitoring.
ExtraVM - High RAM Specials
Yours truly.
There’s also NodePing
Nodequery
Nexa Racks - Reliable Web Hosting Company
Thanks for the suggestions, I have updated the list, and added the three tools suggested so far.
Will update periodically particulate the first 10 or 12 entries
(Entirely optional)
@AnthonySmith at a later point in time (say a few weeks from now) if the list adds value as a blog post on LESBlog, would be happy to tailor it.

Nice list, thank you!
Also, bearmon, by the same folks who run LunaNode.
Been using in the past Uptimedoctor 5 URL for 1min testing
Using Hetrix Tools Long time

Nodeping is the best. It never gives false positives since it confirms the downtime from a totally different geographic location and only then sends a notice.
We have been using them for 6-7 years.
They are worth every penny.
Yep, I think ramnode and securedragon are using them as well iirc
Zilore : It's FREE. and now my primary external monitoring.
Pro: Zero false positives. Reliable
Cons: slow javascript heavy UI and graphs. (for once a year when I scan through)
EDIT:
Apparently I've been on FREE beta for nearly 2yrs. haha.
Found on their website:
Mr Vyas sir, I cannot stop hearing Shaggy ft Rayvon in my head. Thank you for this gift.
Also, I think #4 should be updown.io unless that is a completely different service.

Thanks for some great feedback.
Tempted to suggest a tag line to Nodeping folks...
“Nodeping. The uptime monitor trusted by Webhosts.”
Fixed. Thanks for flagging kind sir. My typos must be a result of listening to ‘ Summertime ‘
Hi all,
On a related note...
Turns out some guy has compiled a list of 150 monitoring services. And an additional 100 odd that are no longer active or shut down. Makes me wonder if there is a lot of money to be made by offering these services?

Weird. I actually dreamed about setting one up recently. Might still do so. More of a tech trial though rather than commercial motive
In order to further test, I have set up 5 different services. Three existing, two new ones : Ironically one (Netumo) keeps giving me false positives for @Smallweb Singapore. 20 alerts a day! Turned it off today.
