How to sell server hardware?
I have been running servers from home for years, but time changes, and im moving up to the cloud as we speak, and im looking to get rid of my old servers. Do you have any tips for marketplaces to post those on? Also, how does it work to export things like this?
Last but not least, how should i price out those systems ?
Hp proliant DL360p Gen8 with 2 x 2690v2 cpus, and 256gb ram. I wont sell with disk caddies or any disks. Have around 30 of those.

Exporting is a pain in the ass, customs suck. Don't export it, sell to locals if you can. Or, list it on eBay and use their shipping system (well, technically "reshipping"?).
Open eBay. Search the model of the server hardware. Find a similar configuration.
For a quick sale: Take 20% off the eBay price.
For a general sale: List at the average of the eBay listings in price. Eg, if they range between $400-$450, list yourself at $425.
Yep, eBay is your best bet.

So if i put those on ebay, how am i supposed to ship them around the world? I live in Norway, and market for things like this here is fairly small.

You don't have eBay global shipping program in Norway?
You only have to pay to ship the server to the eBay hun in Norway, they handle the rest.
edit: yup seems it does cover Norway: https://pages.ebay.com/seller-center/shipping/global-shipping-program.html#eligibility

Oh lol, thank you. Havent sold anything on ebay before. Seems that systems with those cpus start at around $500, but with alot less ram. Is $600 a fair price for a single unit, and $500 each if you buy multible maybe? What do you think?
I want to get them out as fast as possible.

I sell stuff on eBay every week internationally (I have a retro gaming system repair addiction) I have found 3 things to be true:
if you set a buy it now price and there is something cheaper, it will take ages to sell even if what you are selling is better in some way but pretty much the same thing.
if you set a reserve price, fewer people will bid generally and the fewer people that bid the lower the overall price
if you start at a stupidly low price e.g. 99p (or whatever your equivalent is) you will get tons more attention, more people will watch your item and you get a much stronger price at the end.
The most expensive thing I sell is Commodore Amiga 1200's with upgraded hard disks after I recap them (desolder all the capacitors and replace them with new ones as they are 30 years old), I start them at 99p on a 10 or 7 day auction and usually end up getting about £350, I have sold them for close to that on Buy it now but it takes months.
You might be best off going for a hybrid, start with a fairly low auction price and set a buy it now price also and accept offers.
The big issue you have atm is that I think that sort of server is probably appealing to a homelab market as suggested, it is almost Christmas after a global pandemic causing a financial crash.
@mikho may know of some DC's/hosts in Scandinavia that may take them as a job lot at the right price, their names escape me at,

Thanks for the mention @AnthonySmith.
The only Scandinavian host that I know of, that visit places like this are @terrahost, the Norwegian company.
Very friendly staff and they have sold a lot of older hardware on Black Friday. They still have some in stock.
I have no idea if they are interested. Perhaps if the price is right?

If you are serious, feel free to pm me. However, let @AnthonySmith decide if this is breaking any rules here on the forum first. This was not a sales post, but a post to get advice. However, ill accept a $500ea offer for them.

If it's approximately $300 to ship one of these to Norway from the USA, it's probably about the same for the other direction. So it would cost another $600 to ship.
Let me think. Please feel free to post this offer anywhere else in the meantime.

People are free to make their own choices, the thread is live now, generally, I don't want this place to be a hardware sales place but at the same time, it is not a nanny state forum and buyers just need to do due diligence.

This is great share. Never knew something like this existed. Can one search for items available via GSP to USA?
Well the way it works is, as a buyer say from the USA, you use ebay USA as you normally would, and search for a "Ford escort windscreen wiper motor" then anyone internationally that is selling one that also put a tick in the "Sell through global shipping program" will turn up in your results in ebay USA even if they are in the UK or Greece or Germany.
You will see the price to get it to you, the shipping will be higher than if it was domestic obviously and there will be mention to the item location and global shipping program near the shipping price.
From the UK: I searched for sega mastersystem ntsc

Awesome. Will look out for this. Again thanks for sharing the GSP. Maybe I can sell something i have been meaning to for a long time.
that was interesting, never knew that it was possible to sell via eBay that way.
might try to sell some things there instead of local selling sites.
