⭕ A simple uptime dashboard using UptimeRobot API https://upy.duo.ovh
⭕ Currently using VPS from BuyVM, GreenCloudVPS, Gullo's, Hetzner, HostHatch, InceptionHosting, LetBox, MaxKVM, MrVM, VirMach.
These are scores from a KVM deal from VirMach around July 4: 1GB RAM, 1 vCore, 20GB SSD, Intel Xeon E5-2660 v2, $17.86/year. The scores are decent for the money. Interesting, aes is passed through on this KVM (which hasn't usually been the case on KVMs from VirMach, but apparently, this has begun to change).
"A single swap file or partition may be up to 128 MB in size. [...] [I]f you need 256 MB of swap, you can create two 128-MB swap partitions." (M. Welsh & L. Kaufman, Running Linux, 2e, 1996, p. 49)
An unusual VPS, that one. I wonder how they keep gourmet users under control. Also, I don't really feel tempted in light of the network and the lack of control panel (no control panel, right?).

Yes no panel, it's managed. But takes around 24hrs or more to respond especially on weekend.
A good use case may be LES with high traffic. USD $6 2GB ram and no fileserving

I had a little hiccup with building a PC for research purposes using second hand parts, with the motherboard dying on me on Black Friday. Faced with the choice of getting another secondhand motherboard or changing both motherboard and CPU to a brand new one, I decided to pull the trigger and go back to my first love, AMD. I got a second generation Ryzen 5 2600X that was on clearance (already more than sufficient power for my needs).
Here are the Geekbench scores (stock frequency of 3.6Ghz):
The previous CPU in this PC was a Skylake i5-6600K which has a stock of 3.6Ghz and I overclocked it to 4.4Ghz. Here are the Geekbench scores comparing the two (with the previous one as the baseline)
"A single swap file or partition may be up to 128 MB in size. [...] [I]f you need 256 MB of swap, you can create two 128-MB swap partitions." (M. Welsh & L. Kaufman, Running Linux, 2e, 1996, p. 49)

+1 for whatever dark magic NexusBytes is up to. I've been comparing NVMe offerings and so far NexusBytes wins on clock speed and price/value, Hyper Expert on highest multi-core Geekbench score.
Yeah, I found NB on a quest for high clock speed, where Ryzen seems to be the consistent winner.*
*: I have no idea what I'm talking about, I just have an inexplicable+unhealthy addiction to server-hunting for value.
That clock speed and Nvme speed combined easily manages even busy medium sized database-driven sites without breaking a sweat. I am hugging my box so tightly that you won't pry it from my fingers until I am dead.

Hardware is identical in both sets of numbers, so these results show pretty much only the difference between the processors.
