Upcoming changes at MaxKVM [ Price adjustments for existing clients ]
Just received this email from MaxKVM regarding product and price changes.
Hello,
New services in Singapore and Los Angeles have been unavailable to new customers for most of this month, and new hardware will be added as soon as possible to increase overall capacity and performance for all users.
Since dedicated vCPUs have been frequently requested and planned since the first month of operations, this new hardware will launch with an infrastructure change for all virtual machines to operate in a fully dedicated vCPU configuration to allow for 100% CPU usage across all cores at any time.
A price adjustment will be necessary to reflect this upgrade to a virtual-dedicated server environment, and new pricing will take effect for new purchases and renewal invoices at the beginning of the next billing cycle, 10/1/2022.
A longer 10-day grace period will also be granted for 10/1 renewal invoices because of this price increase, and existing prices will be maintained until the end of the month for users who wish to secure the current pricing for at least one more year with new purchase or upgrade to annual billing cycle.
Please do not hesitate to contact should you have any questions.
Best Regards,
MaxKVM Support

Most important bit of news:

So, price increase.
Added to title.
Odd that, the pre discounted price of my SKVM4 two years ago was $111.89 USD. I won a 77% reoccurring discount code in a New Years 2021 contest. So I wonder will my new price with two dedicated cores be $99.99 - 77% = $23 USD a year ?
Probably not, but one can always hope.

Discount is relative like Time, just look at VPN companies.
On BF 1GB is sold at 10$ ish, so some could also say you paid double.

Well this thread is not going the way I expected.
I originally got 2 EPYC-7702p cores, 4GB RAM, 80GB NVMe, 3TB transfer on 10gb for $32 a year. As I am sure you remember there was some downtime when Hivelocity threw them out so I got some credit for that and ended up paying $21.42 on my last yearly renewal.
So yes it was a little more then double $10, but if you can direct me to the above specs for $10/year on BF I would be very grateful.

Good deal indeed.
10$ per Gig, not 4Gig for 10$, that would be to nice.

I don’t remember how they resolved their dc eviction. Did they move all locations or solve their upstream issues?
Regardless, miss the brand around here. I had a cracking $69 vps IIRC.

A naughty price...

They changed their upstreamon all locations, IIRC to datapacket.

I'm honestly shocked that MaxKVM was able to recover from that whole situation
They probably got some good discounts from DataPacket

Was this the guy who had a massive nervous breakdown on LET over very little, or am I misremembering?
Not a very specific description. Could apply to anyone
MichaelCee
Nah, like a proper breakdown, as in people were genuinely worried, not just laughing.
Like the one posting some hard porn including s... fuck, it has been years since that and there is not an unsee button.
After 5 days my billing ticket was answered where I had asked how my discount would work with the new price.
They told me that the discount would be applied to the monthly billing price, but I would still be billed annually.
So $24.99 x 12 = $299.88/yr - 77% discount = $68.97. So ~115% increase over the previous yearly price.
They did not offer to add the extra disk space or transfer that the new AX-4 has over the SKVM-4G.
Needless to say this is the end of my relationship with MaxKVM.
I don't think these are the guys you are thinking of. Their last blow up was when Hivelocity kicked them out of all their locations. They came on the LE* boards and tried to get everyone to spam Hivelocity. Nobody did, and they just moved on to DataPacket.

Needless to say this is the start of your characteristic of being stupid.
Webhosting24 aff best VPS; ServerFactory aff best VDS; Cloudie best ASN; Huel aff best brotein.
Some may think that started before MaxKVM given my Electro Swing leg day routine ...

Ah, I remember that one, I got told off for spamming up one of the threads (something about preventing MaxKVM from being held to account or similar) and it was my fault it got closed.
They are those guys who said that customers ahould write to hivelocity to stop exodus. Not serious, at best.
