    @martijnk activate Collabora Online please

    Hi Ofit,

    This is now active!

I am certainly doing something wrong ... how do I access Collabra? I cannot find it anywhere. Please note, I am new to NextCloud so maybe I am not looking in the right place, but I have looked everywhere.

Just create a new document or spreadsheet in a folder, then when you click it it will open.

Uhmm, I wish my life were that simple. I created a new document. It did not open. I reread and saw that you said to create it in a folder so I did that ... same.

Now, a few minutes later ... it works. Sigh

Recommended providers: BuyVM - MXroute - LunaNode - Forpsi - IntoVPS

You're not wrong. When I create a new document and click it, nothing happens. I have to go somewhere else, come back to files, then click it and it works.

    It's a bit bugged I guess...

  • Off topic - has anyone successfully mounted nextcloud using webdav?

    https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/20/user_manual/en/files/access_webdav.html#creating-webdav-mounts-on-the-linux-command-line

I did as per above instructions and mount works fine, but when I reboot my box goes into emergency mode.

    I set a system-wide mount for WebDAV.
All files would show up as owned by the ubuntu user that I use to login to the desktop.

    sudo apt install davfs2

    sudo mkdir -p /mnt/BRICK

    sudoedit /etc/davfs2/secrets
      /mnt/BRICK [email protected] 8e0e052e-7beb-4e35-bf8d-45e9d69aceaf

    sudoedit /etc/fstab
      https://brick.novos.be/remote.php/dav/files/[email protected]/ /mnt/BRICK davfs _netdev,user,uid=ubuntu,gid=ubuntu 0 0

@martijnk Nice deal you got here, and thanks for the free 200GB. However, is there a way to enable file sharing with non-nextcloud users?

    Edit: Found the share option.

  • Could we have the "App Order" app installed pretty please? Maybe "Notes" and/or "Deck" too?

I could but it seems the nextcloud app store is down right now. I will add them next time.

    Got one.

    In total received 7 emails.

    Get some 405 errors randomly.

Rclone command 'list' is disabled for WebDav.

  • How to mount it on a vps as an extra disk?

I think my order failed many times without VPN. Maybe because I am in Spain and billing address is german. Could try ordering via vpn but...
Maybe IP from my shared flat here is blacklisted?

I tried rclone mount and it works perfectly.

It took me two days to upload all the photos (about 120GB) via davfs2+rsync.

    • davfs2 isn't working on my home router (GL-AR750) so I have to run it on a BeagleBone Black, then rsync from SAMBA mount to WebDAV mount.
    • rsync would only transfer 1 file at a time.
    • All the modify dates are messed up because WebDAV protocol doesn't allow setting modify dates.

I wish I knew rclone ealier.
    With rclone sync command:

    • rclone can run on the home router directly, so the source HDD is local.
    • rclone can transfer 4 files in parallel.
    • Modify dates are set correctly.
    • There are fewer command line flags to remember than rsync.

Currently, I'm using rclone to re-sync the photo directory.
It wants to re-upload about 15% of the files, and takes a lot of CPU and RAM.
Nevertheless, once I put it into nice, everything is progressing smoothly and should complete in less than a day.

You can increase transfers from 4 by using --transfers=69 more here https://rclone.org/docs/

I passed with a Serbian address (and all the other data - like phone etc.), in spite of using a "foreign IP address" through a VPN.
    Maybe just lucky? :astonished:
