found this while searching for a proxmox module that works with Blesta. it's being developed by the same people behind Proxmox VPS for whmcs - modulesgarden.

Might be interesting for providers using Blesta so though of sharing here. (the default shipped Proxmox module is outdated)

Anyways ... we all need good billing and provisioning software and from what I can tell WHMCS is probably the best. But Blesta is darn good as well - just not quite up to speed with everything. So as a new provider I think that I could go with either solution. Except, thanks to @Francisco Blesta will be free to use!

I'd like to go with WHMCS, but I am worried ... worried that they (Oakley or their new owners) are going to pull another cPanel like price increase. And as a very small, new provider that would sink me. As it is the monthly fee is steep for a start up. (Yeah, I am a penny pincher!)

So, what is everyone's thoughts? Would you start new with Blesta, or is there a compelling argument for using WHMCS knowing that one day they will try to bankrupt you (not directly, but you know what I mean)?

Oh, and Billmanager from ISPSystem is not too bad ... but they do not support Direct Admin, so they are not an option.

The system requirements have increased significantly. Also included is a new, highly requested navigation editor. Add or delete primary and secondary navigation links and sort them for the staff, client, or public areas.

Upload and preview your logo for the staff and client areas. VAT VIES integration improves EU tax support. Emoji's are now supported system-wide, including support tickets, packages, order forms, emails, and just about everywhere.

A responsive staff area and expanded color options for client themes bring improvements to the UI. There are many in the budget market who already offer services at little to no profit in order to keep pushing the sales. There are may be less than 1% of hosts who are talented enough as developers or earn enough to afford a custom billing solution which performs minimal automation without all the bells & whistles present in mass used solutions. A vast majority consisting of sole proprietors & one man show companies will have to make the difficult decision of migrating to a competing solution

Blesta, Hostbill, WISECP, Clientexec & AWBS are some of the well known WHMCS alternatives available.

Which one out of those do you think will replace WHMCS?

Does it make any difference whether you get branded or unbranded license when you are getting the same features & functionality?

Would love to read opinions on this from everyone including hosting providers

What I can see is that in near future things are going to be very difficult particularly for those hosting companies who cater to budget market

1. AMD to get more share of the server market as Intel has really f****d itself really badly with all those vulnerabilities

2. If you are just starting out as a hosting provider then stay far away from WHMCS unless you manage to bag an owned license as a price increase is expected within next 6 to 18 months which could make it more difficult for you to sustain in this highly competitive market. Good alternatives are HostBill if you got enough cash at hand other otherwise starting out with Blesta right now would be a good choice for which you can get an owned license for cheap or can even get it for free as internal license with many hosting companies

3. If you are a vps provider then after the release of Solus.io aka SolusVM v2 you are either going to have to increase pricing or you'll have to switch to alternatives like Proxmox, Virtualizor or VMmanager

4. In the next few years we are also going to see more & more people switching to DirectAdmin or InterWorx from cPanel

What are the disadvantages of getting it from a certified Blesta reseller such as LicensePal vs the official website?

What is License Manager in Blesta?
