BuyVM Miami will be live in the coming weeks.

All prices, credits, currently paid period, and recurring renewal pricing, are fully honored in the move over.

Most goodies are includes (slabs, bgp, directadmin, softaculous, etc).

We get to yeet OpenVZ for a 2nd time.

AnyNode VPS Customers Moving To BuyVM

After much discussions and deliberation internally, we’ve decided to partner with BuyVM (Frantech Solutions) to acquire all AnyNode VPS accounts. BuyVM is a well established provider in the hosting space and a long time partner of AnyNode’s - providing us with bandwidth in our Las Vegas location.

This move means a higher quality of service for VPS customers, a new VPS management panel, access to new add-ons like DDoS protected IPs, and much more. Features we already offer, like free DirectAdmin licenses and BGP sessions are also available at BuyVM.

This decision stems from a falling out we had with developers building our new in-house VPS panel. Things weren’t progressing as we expected and it effectively left us starting over on development. We feel this move leaves our VPS customers in even more capable hands and allows us to focus on other parts of the company.

In order to facilitate this move, there is manual action required on your part. VPS’s will be recreated at BuyVM, including an IP address change. Please read the instructions below carefully to request your new VPS.

This applies to all AnyNode VPS customers (KVM, OpenVZ Wedge). Las Vegas VPS’s will be recreated immediately, Miami VPS’s will be recreated in the coming weeks - or you can request a move to Las Vegas to have a new BuyVM VPS recreated immediately.

All AnyNode VPS’s will be shut down by August 1st, 2021.

Important Instructions

1 - Create An Account With BuyVM

VPS customers must create an account at BuyVM (if you don’t already have one). We will not be migrating customer details or logins, you must create an account at https://my.frantech.ca/register.php

Use real information when signing up to avoid being denied by the fraud detection system.

Please use the same email you use at AnyNode when creating the account to make it easier to verify you.

2 - Open A Billing Ticket And Request A Move OR Account Credit

Open a ticket with BuyVM’s billing department. In this ticket please tell them whether you’d like to have a new service provisioned with the same specifications as your current plan, or if you’d like an account credit.

You must include the IP address(es) of your current AnyNode VPS(‘s).

Ticket Subjects:

AnyNode Migration - [IP.Address]

AnyNode Migration - Account Credit

3 - A New VM Will Be Created At BuyVM - OR Account Credits Assigned

After verifying the details, BuyVM will create a VPS to the same specifications as your current AnyNode plan and provide a free month of service for you to migrate your data. You will be assigned a new IP address for the VM.

If you’ve selected the account credit option, the remaining time on your current AnyNode VPS(‘s) will be calculated as a credit and applied to your BuyVM account.

4 - All AnyNode VPS’s Will Be Terminated August 1st

Important - If you have a recurring payment setup with Paypal for your AnyNode VPS, you must login to Paypal and cancel it yourself.

If you do not follow the above steps to request a new VPS at BuyVM, all AnyNode hosted VPS’s will go offline on August 1st, 2021. So please get a head start on this and get your new VPS provisioned with BuyVM to avoid service interruption.

Service-Specific Notices

OpenVZ Wedges

BuyVM does not offer OpenVZ plans, so OpenVZ VPS customers who choose to migrate their service will be provisioned with a similar specification KVM VPS instead of an OpenVZ one.

OpenVZ Resellers

BuyVM does not have a reseller system in place, but may be able to provide some options to resellers. Please reach out to BuyVM’s sales department via ticket to discuss these options.

Dedicated, Managed & IP Resource Customers

There are no changes to AnyNode Dedicated, Managed or IP Resource customers - this change only impacts VPS plans.

From the team here at AnyNode, we just want to say thank you for your patronage and trust in us over the years. This transition was a tough decision for us to make, but we truly feel this is the best path forward for AnyNode and that you’ll be in even better hands with a new VPS at BuyVM.

Regards,

AnyNode Team

Hello everyone,

I'm looking to hire another support rep to pickup higher skill tickets (network, routing, linux trouble shooting, etc). I'm looking for someone to fill a 10AM-6PM GMT -7 M-F position. You'd be working with our head of support, Anthony.

The perfect candidate would have:

Experience with cPanel and Directadmin. While we're not offering Buyshared plans anymore, Directadmin is a big part of our offerings.

A good handling on trouble shooting and debugging. I need someone that can work at a problem, even if it means looking for ideas on stackoverflow.

A good grasp of the english language. Other languages such as Spanish, Portuguese, & Chinese, would be a huge positive.

Strong experience with Linux is a must. Windows is a nice plus as well.

A good understanding of networking & routing. You can read an MTR, you've setup tunnels (GRE, WG, OVPN, things like that. If you've setup your own BGP routing, OSPF, static routing, that'd be a huge win.

Please PM me here with your resumes or just to talk things over.

Wage & perks to be negotiated in private. Please, no outsourcing teams. You must work exclusively for us.

Just sent this mass email out:

===

Like all good parents, we forgot our child’s birthday – woops. A little over 10 years ago we took a gamble on a new product line: BuyVM. Between datacenter moves, power outages, DDOS attacks, and one too many networking configuration fat fingers, we’re still here! Thank you!

Now, onto the presents!

The past 2 months have been a development marathon for us starting with Backups & Snapshots in May/June. We’re happy to announce the availability of three new features: ISO uploading, Two Factor Authentication, and last but not least, BGP Sessions!

Automatic Backups & Snapshots

To recap the last email we sent: All KVM Slice’s in Las Vegas now support optional automatic backups. These backups run on Monday, Wednesday, & Friday with 2 weeks of backups kept. Backups can be purchased at https://my.frantech.ca by viewing your service, going to “Configurable Options”, and enabling them.

Snapshots are free to all users but have a limit of 5 per account. You can use snapshots to make a template of one VM and clone it to many others easily or have a rollback point you take before a big upgrade.

ISO Uploading

You can now upload your own ISO’s without any staff intervention inside of Stallion. All customers get 15GB of media storage with a 5GB file limit. ISO’s are automagically synchronized to all locations as well. A “share code” system also exists so sharing your ISO’s with other BuyVM users is easy and instant.

This feature is completely free for all customers with KVM based plans.

Two Factor Authentication

After countless requests and at least two change.org petitions, a TOTP based Two Factor Authentication system is available! No special apps are needed, it works perfectly with Google Authenticator, Authy, WinAuth, etc.

BGP Sessions

Have your own IP addresses that you wish to use on your KVM Slice’s? Now you can! BGP sessions are available in both Las Vegas and Luxembourg. We expect New York to be supported in a month or two when our new router arrives.

Once your ASN is approved we can register any manual prefixes you have an LOA for. All prefixes signed with RPKI for your ASN will automagically be imported. BGP communities are also available allowing you to block prefixes from being announced to certain upstreams, prepend routes, and null route IP addresses.

DDOS protection is not available at the moment but in the future, we may offer it as a fairly priced monthly cost. Past that BGP sessions are completely free and have no minimum term or setup fee. Customers just need to open a ticket with us to get their ASN approved.

I know we say it every time, but we truly mean it.

Thank you for the patronage.

Francisco

===

Since some people are probably curious, here's a shot of what a BGP session looks like:
