But now we are running a beta test for using domains of your choice. To participate in the beta, you need to have a Storage Share package. No hard location/RAM/CPU requirements, just have to be able to use borg & scp, and has to have reasonable resilience (not single drive or RAID0). Doesn't have to be a VPS, but needs to have reasonable retrieval BW included (not like AWS & co). Thanks.

Hi all, I am looking for a good storage VPS for personal backups. I am mainly interested in storage VPSes, but if a regular backup provider would work, I am open to those. So far, the best offer that I've found is the Lobster Unlimited Expanding Storage Plan from Servarica, which is $10/month for 2 TB plus 3 GB/day (= 1 TB/year). I also found Jottacloud, but their upload speeds are quite slow from here (US east coast). Any of the other backup providers that I've found either don't support backing up data stored on a NAS or don't support encryption/rclone.

I am looking for offers around $10/month but can go a little bit higher if necessary. Currently I am estimating my backup size at 1.8 TB, so I would prefer 3 TB+ unless the storage is increased periodically like the Servarica VPS.

Hey all,

I've got a slightly strange set of requirements for this one:

Either a low-end Dedi or KVM VPS would be fine
Must be a non North/South America location (Europe, Asia)
Either unmetered 50Mbps-100Mbps, or 10TB @ 250Mbps or greater
At least 1TB of Storage (underlying storage type, redundancy, etc. doesn't matter)
Allows for personal VPN use (I plan to mostly use this as offsite data storage & as a VPN endpoint)
CPU/RAM doesn't matter too much. As long as it can handle using IPSEC VPNs.
Max budget is $15/mo, but I am flexible if there's a better value by spending a little more ($20 for 3TB, etc.)
Bonus points if it has IP/KVM upon request, but not a requirement.

I am looking for the best bang for the buck deal so to speak so I would rather be closer to or slightly over my budget if it means better value for the money, over a cheaper but less attractive deal.

If you feel my requirements are unreasonable or my budget is too low I'm open to feedback.

These are all limited time deals, please do not ask me to replicate them after this BF/CM season, despite typing this I know it will not matter much but if you are 'that guy' know that you are only 1 of 100 people asking so it is not a 1 time exception.

They will not be refunded, credited or otherwise if you did not think first before you bought.

Subscriptions are not available because people forget and double pay then want a refund.

I know no one reads the terms but agrees anyway so here is a quick overview of the important stuff.

CPU Abuse: 60+% of a core over 24 hours or 100% of a core for 1+ hour
Disk is a shared resource not dedicated to you, if your IOPS R+W requests p/s disrupts other customers or impacts their fair expectations of service you will be shut down as a rule please keep IOPS below 300p/s avg on regular services or 1000 p/s on SSD over 24 hours or 1500 p/s avg for 1 hour on regular services and 6000 avg over an hour on SSD services.

Tor = instant termination, no warnings, no "but i just" not interested, tor = gone

Torrents = same as tor, even over VPN/Proxy etc.

No crypto mining, wallets etc.

This all sounds harsh but you would not believe the things people do, terms are only imposed when they need to be, generally as long as your not bothering anyone there is no problem.

Shutdowns of services are automated only when you exceed 300% of the AUP i.e. exceed CPU/IOPS limits for 300% of the allotted limit (when you don't monitor your own server)
