(Quote) That is not quite correct. A quote from the article you linked: "Of course, NGINX is still a part of our stack, but the code that handles HTTP requests goes well beyond the capabilities of NGINX alone. It’s also not hard to imagine a t…

(Quote) At the cost of being nitpicking - every (layer of) protection usually adds more complexity and impracticality of use, so there's always a point past which more is no longer better, not in practice.

The standard comment: "According to Marx, capital has the tendency for concentration and centralization in the hands of the richest capitalists. It always ends in the ruin of many small capitalists, whose capitals partly pass into the hands o…

The server is back online. Tech. support response was fast and OK - no complaints.

(Quote) Yup - same here. Brixly DA was just as fast as HostMantis. DA - DA migrations are a breeze. The deal-breaker for me was that Brixly couldn't make TLS/SSL auto renewals work with Cloudflare configured to "Full (strict)". Convincing…

(Quote) Until today, my "canary" site was working flawlessly (as good as ever), with only one hick-up since the ownership change. I've read some complaints recently about the service, and the tech. support quality going bad. I suppose I'd…

HostMantis stats say their servers are up, but my uptime stats (and the test-sites left there) are all down, for about half an hour now. (Image) I suppose it's possible the TLS/SSL auto renewal failed, that could explain it.

(Quote) To put it briefly: the plugin sucks. PHP errors - apparently not PHP 8.1 compatible. Plus, it would be yet-another-plugin, which is a very bad policy for running WordPress sites in my opinion and experience.

(Quote) Wait... Aren't you already?! Then who am I following there?!? Edit: Just a marketing idea - send a "tegla of domaći ajvar" to every customer, every year! :) If that doesn't keep them, nothing will! :) A bottle of rakija is also …

Some comments seem like missing the fact there is also the backup code - or I'm missing something. I.e. if you can't use 2FA, for whatever reason, you can use the backup code to log in, disable it (and re-enable with a different method if you like).

(Quote) DDG is just another side of the same coin. Google VS Microsoft. Brave search is probably the least bad for search. And MXroute for emails. :)

I think 2FA is mostly needed for the folks who reuse (admin123) passwords on many accounts. Enforcing it makes the providers' life easier. Having said that, for the important stuff (especially emails used for service registration), I think it's not…

Serbian prices for private use (i.e. not business), roughly: 5 cents per KW/h for electricity usage of up to 350 KW/h per month. 8 cents for electricity used over the 350 KW/h per month, to 1600 KW/h per month (not 100% sure about this). 16 cents fo…

(Quote) MyVestaCP is run and maintained by the company owner, because they didn't like the lack of care from the other similar platforms (security patches primarily). So it's practically a one-man-show CP - should be good for at least as long as Pr…

(Quote) In that case (Russian visitors and multiple websites), I'd try Brixly in Germany - they aren't perfect, but I don't know of a better option at the moment.

(Quote) MyW offers a German location (Hetzner servers). Brixly - I'm not 100% sure, but as far as I remember, UK only (so, not EU). The only Serbian provider I'd host with, MyCity Hosting, uses Hetzner (in Germany also), but doesn't do reseller, o…

The plugin blocks GTmetrix for one. :) Returns it a 500 page. Not sure how it plays with any search engines, but there is some problem. Disabling the plugin solves the problem.
