(Quote) No IPMI but you do get the standard OVH installer, which is much better than the old Kimsufi/SYS one.

Just FYI, there's a second one with a Xeon E5 for 20 euros. Specs are the same, but instead of 4c/8t with iGPU, it's 6c/12t with no iGPU.
-
(Quote) I think so, these have the same 4 core 8 thread core counts, as well as the benefit of an iGPU. You also get SSD.

(Quote) I honestly don't have a lot of workloads that use over 100m sustained, a lot of my sites/services will use maybe 20-30mbps. I do have some boxes with 10, 20, 40g in case I need to burst, but I think a lot of the time people just want a big p…

(Quote) I've been trying to stay away from OVH, but they finally got me with this one.

+1 for tensordock, great service. I also agree with @yoursunny and mostly encode video on my dedicated machines, since I'm able to max out the CPU 24/7.

Great offer, just grabbed 5 VMs for a little project. Love the exotic locations!

(Quote) This isn't a tunnel, they will do the paperwork and let you announce the /48 anywhere you wish. Alternatively, you can tunnel, which is what I'm sure most people use Route48 for.
-
(Quote) IPv6 is basically a free resource at this point now anyways. Charging for it at all is the questionable bit. Route48 is run off of donated resources for the betterment of the internet, so there's no secret agenda there. Sort of like the HE t…

(Quote) Yes, route48 will sign a LOA for you to announce a /48 with anyone, and doesn't charge you $20/year for it either. You can have five at once.

(Quote) QN's staff are pretty incompetent, so them outsourcing in NJ might actually be a positive if true lol

(Quote) Very nice upstreams, super tempted by this sale now. Really interesting to see more "cloud like" NAT VMs.

(Quote) Who are you using for Seoul and Amsterdam?

(Quote) Was a little bored so I checked around: hostingsource is in QuadraNet NY, Cogent NJ, and Cyxtera NJ. qhoster is with Constant (Choopa) in NJ. Steadfast is in NJ as well, but they are in Iron Mountain. was probably just another SEO spam p…

(Quote) Pretty interesting site they have: (Image) Also yep, pretty strange about people leaving Steadfast. I remember when they were basically the main low end upstream if you wanted something in Chicago.

Agreed, /64 is the minimum that should be assigned to a VM. Happy to see it's a thing now but I don't think it's worth a post.

(Quote) Any data gong through the port, so bidirectional.

I try to avoid using affiliate links. I feel like it cheapens the brand, and if I recommend something to someone, my sending of an aff link cheapens my recommendation since I now get financial gain from it. I prefer to recommend providers based off …

(Quote) Don't worry, they're not using wood racks, just wood shelf. Perfectly safe.

(Quote) Plus fridge access, in case I need a snack. If so, I will happly prepay 1 year.

(Quote) Agreed, my 3 core 12gb ram 20gb disk machines from VirBot are still doing work, not everything needs a lot of storage. The amount of CPU to RAM is a little weird though, will probably be extremely oversold CPU. Would have been better as 2 go…

HostHatch has storage, I run my media server off of a few HH storage VPS + one of their compute VPS. Works great! Can also do the same thing with Servarica since they have private networking themselves.

This sounds perfect for a KS-1, like @rm_ said. Another option is https://oneprovider.com/order/item/dediconf/49 which has 300mbps unmetered, as opposed to 100mbps. Could always accept donations as well.

(Quote) The thread is funny, therefore it should stay IMO. Not like they're scamming anyone or being dishonest about what they're doing.

Heard OK things about creanova, it's nice to see people doing finland locations that aren't just Hetzner :)
-
Is this just Hetzner or is it with someone else?
-
This is one of the funniest LES projects I've seen. I wouldn't get a service but I WILL lurk the threads that ensue from this.

(Quote) Now someone needs to get port 80 and you two can team up. Or perhaps ask for port 80 as well and have your very own internet monopoly? Big businessman Sunny :sunglasses:

(Quote) Yep, I posted a screenshot + link to the OG thread here if you'd like to read more. It's OK though, the host said sorry so they're still allowed to post offers here!

(Quote) Mail relays are pretty in demand, the issue is that they're only priced a little bit underneath someone like mxroute while seeming 10x less trustable, at an unsustainable price. You generally just don't see a lot of independent email deliver…

WHMCS should just stop offering that' license checker, it's wrong a solid 60% of the time
