Interesting to see the discussion above. Always wondered how these things go down. Thanks both

(Quote) No but gonna check it out soon. Bought a 3rd raspberry for the purpose.

Depends on whether you mean regularly pricing or specials. I've seen double RAM specials on here before which obviously shifts the picture dramatically...not often but does happen. (Quote) Please don't. I'd pay money to avoid being on their free ti…

(Quote) I'd love to but the layout doesn't work. New screen is as wide as the desk. So the older one will need to be on top on horizontal ...assuming I can find a rigid screen arm which is proving tricky

(Quote) Plug the link into camelcamelcamel to see price history. That'll help you unpick whats a real special & what is not As a general rule I've found that anything Amazon is likely to feature on it's front page (echos, kindles etc) is subje…

Just remember that the ARM universe is still a fair bit smaller...

(Quote) :) Yeah I figure it's a good investment. I'm up to my eyeballs in Excel all day and do tech/gaming after hours so time for a proper screen.

Went big this time. Been working on a damn tablet (12" or something) for months so decided to change that (Image)

Clearly a team of drones hovering overhead & autonomously returning to a charging dock like a roomba is the solution. :p I saw some solar panel + battery pack combos on amazon, but think they might be a little light. Other thing is I think you'…

Bit hard to visualise tbh, but are you sure you can't trench a PoE cable for the repeater? Will be easier than dealing with batteries & solar. For the IR light - I'd imagine you can get away with lower wattage if you do multiple small lights ra…

(Quote) How about pure ipv6? Like this: (Image) No ipv4 but lengthen the months? ...need a box for some ipv6 testing & learning stuff (new home broadband has static ipv6..and well a tunnel has by definition two end). I've got a 6.25 EUR cr…

The notion of fair percentage is pretty meaningless in this context. Companies will charge whatever the market will bear while simultaneously trying to maintain/gain market share. i.e. Driven purely by market forces. If you absolutely have to boil …

Check out TechnoTim on youtube He seems to like rancher & his presentation style is bearable vs rest of youtube tech tutorials https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOk-gHyjcWZNj3Br4oxwh0A

(Quote) uhm what? I'm sorry Mr Craiglist seller. You're too small for me....and because of that I'll need a refund. Ignoring the sexual subtext WTF kind of logic is that? Like if you need a big supplier for risk management purposes presumably you…

(Quote) In that case - you can just tear that apart and figure out what they did: https://builtwith.com/ Looks like an interesting project...but def above my skill level.

Yup. Feels like too much power in MS hands (again)...but it's hard to deny that it's a great product. Esp the SSH remote integration and the way it has extensions for everything under the sun

(Quote) ah right. Yeah that makes sense. I'd still consider O365 for the offsite part though. 6TB of storage w/ MS reliability for 75 bucks is hella cheap

A O365 personal/family sub and duplicati on his (presumably) windows computer will do basically the same thing for 60-75 USD a year. Lacks the cool factor though.
