(Quote) Yeah I think that might be the way to go. (Quote) I've added a FULLTEXT index to the table already, hasn't really sped up the LIKE searches. Using MATCH/AGAINST is quicker but doesn't return the correct set of results.

I'm no expert in this but I would have thought IP reputation along with DKIM/SPF/content all matter more than the domain itself.

Reminded me of this: https://shipyourenemiesgdpr.com/

(Quote) Sounds about right. Still seemed a good package though.

(Quote) This isn't the one that was recently available with no setup was it? I looked at that one recently but didn't take the plunge.

I saw this the other day. I used to run SETI@home years ago, on an old Cyrix 333

(Quote) Silver lining, and all that.

Why did it not work out? Not enough people apply or was it abused?

I agree. I haven't looked through the code but I would assume AWS could be replaced with something else for relaying the mail - it would be better if it was handled as part of the initial config though.

(Quote) I presume they've done it this way to prevent forwarded emails being marked as spam?

As an admin, DirectAdmin. As a user, they're both about the same from my point of view, just a different way of doing it. I suspect more users have heard of cpanel, or have used it in the past and so that may be the reason for chosing it.

I like the special notes on the terms page lol

That's probably "low end" these days mind. When I get time I sometimes have a play in proxmox and spin up a small (64mb RAM) VM in there and have a play.

I use SES. I'm tempted to go with MXroute, but it just feels wrong to use a full mail setup as a relay only - but then it is cheaper than things such as mail channels, etc.

I do use gitlab but not to it's full potetential at the minute. It's a nice bit of software, and doesn't NEED the full requirements if you're only running a few smaller repos.

Still looking? Is 2tb (disk) a hard limit or might it go over?

I don't know about their cloud offerings but a lot of my mail servers are on Hetzners network (dedicated /28 though) and no issues. Setup proper SPF/DKIM/etc and it'll make the process easier. I've been running a personal mail server in some form o…

As mentioned, do some blackslist monitoring and keep an eye on your IP reputation. If it's just a personal mail server, then as long the range (/24 etc) doesn't end up on a list you should be fine. Expect to have to deal with outlook (they seem to …

Latency to UK is slightly higher than the AMS location, but still not bad for DE.

(Quote) Ah sorry, didn't mean to confuse. Technically they will be VPS's for clients but most of my stuff is fully managed. If you wanted to do any testing/etc let me know I can sort you with a VPS for a bit if it's any help :)

(Quote) Host is an E-2276G, 64gb and 2xNVMe drives. I created a 4c/4gb test VPS just to check out a few things.

(Quote) Okay, perhaps I worded a bit harsh - I wasn't trying to put down or insult anyone - but it's not the first time there's been a thread like this. I don't know the full circumstances but HostDoc was about to shutdown a server with ReliableSite…
