(Quote) Why do you think that phpbu is a web-based solution?
-
(Quote) Yes, that project was https://lowend.wiki/ , but it seems to be down now. In practice, it was mainly a site to learn about different providers. This said, I'm not sure whether it ever gained much traction.

I found this blog article (from the end of November) interesting: I hadn't realized just how dominant WordPress is. https://www.namecheap.com/blog/wordpress-market-share/ Also, the notion that WordPress could be thought of as "an operating sy…

Are custom ISOs allowed? Is IPv6 available?

(Quote) The ticket ID is 782008. It seems strange to me that I would be the only person affected by this, so I'm surprised that you don't have a number of high-priority tickets about this, but then again, who knows.

My VPS is offline, unreachable, and I can't (re)start it. Is there a problem that you're experiencing and haven't announced? (I've opened a ticket.)

(Quote) I stand corrected. I think that "4,99 €" was indeed originally a typo, but then they decided to honor this price, which made the deal an even better deal. In any case, the deal is now sold out.
-
(Quote) Definitely a typo :) This said, even at 5,99 € it's a great deal, arguably relatively better than their BF special, because for +1,04 € / month one gets 4 dedicated kernels (as opposed to 2 non-dedicated kernels) and a 150 GB SSD (as oppose…

I thought that I would mention PHP-Friends' winter specials, of which there are three: https://php-friends.de/vserver-ssd/vserver-winterspecial-2020-ssd (Clicking on each of the three red horizontal banners will show you the respective special.) …

(Quote) On the contrary, this is exactly what we can tell you: the rules apply to you as well.

"Spiting"? "Spitting"? It wouldn't be nice to spit [at] a Hetzner AX server.

So people without a provider tag can post offers (offers that they themselves offer)?
-
Unfortunately, there's no Geekbench for BSD (which would affect a part of YABS)
-
Not so surprising, given that MOSS is a EU thing

I think that as of the end of 2020, non-NAT 256 MB RAM VPSes are generally viewed as antiquated. I agree that such VPSes can still be useful, but if you can get 512 MB RAM for not much more (and not to mention have much more choice), it seems less …

(Quote) If I may, there's an error on that page. You write: (Quote) It's Ram Host, which is different from RamNode. :)
-
(Quote) Yes, it's Ram Host. They have two locations, Dallas and Los Angeles. If you have a preference, you can choose one via a ticket.

If I were looking for those specs, I would go with tinykvm.com for $15 / year. The compromise is that the (7 GB) disk is only SSD-cached. I've had a couple of these KVMs in the past, and they perform really well.
-
(Quote) You might try to be more specific. The said plan (for $0.99 / month) includes only a 5Mbps connection.

(Quote) Even granting (for the sake of argument) that they "knew" this, it wasn't a Ponzi scheme. In any case, if anyone bothered to read the ToS, they were aware that the conditions could change (with advance notice) at any time.
-
(Quote) That's a different objection. But it still doesn't make what Google did a Ponzi scheme. Anyway, it's a natural fact of life that plans and priorities change over time. There's a web page somewhere about all of the free products that Google …

(Quote) That blog does a bad job of saying why Google's decision to end unlimited free storage for photos is a Ponzi scheme. Google gave something for free to people. Later, they decided to end this, presumably because it was costing them too much.…

Debian and Ubuntu are all fine and well, but they won't satisfy those who are used to the CentOS ecosystem
