This isn’t normal. I used to have one of those with a 256GB SSD. Disks speeds weren’t especially good, but still around 250-300 MB/s.

What can I say, I’m a Lesbian. Sorry for derailing your thread @Bitmap

I hope he will. I <3 Sao Miguel (the Azorean island, not the guy, sorry @MikePT)

Asia is probably Singapore, however Asia is huge so I assume you mean Eastern Asia. Europe/US is London, Amsterdam or Paris.

(Quote) Already stoked!

Thank you for your input, finally went with @gleert due to the location and the good deal. I will sure keep an eye on all other providers mentioned in this thread, for instance to move my main VM.

I never knew, thanks @dosai! No surprises here though. Living in The Netherlands almost means living next to all edge locations of any cdn. colo=AMS http=http/2 loc=NL

(Quote) How do you get these headers?

I'm currently running DirectAdmin with a personal license on my main VM. I host some 'production' sites for friends and family on this setup and I really like it. It's clean and straightforward as opposed to cPanel. So as an admin, it's definitely D…

(Quote) Didn’t know, just followed the AS-number here. By the looks of it, CN2 has no presence in EU so the providers listed above would still be preferred.

(Quote) They did leave their island off the European coast though.

(Quote) Sounds like a good idea.

(Quote) Already got a nice and shining VM at his. That's why I'm mostly looking for Benelux/UK (and maybe France) now.

(Quote) They to do this too but are a tier 1 network as well, so it's tricky to compare. But yeah, China Telecom is not the first provider. (Quote) This is true. It seems @Clouvider uses Telia for routing to CN2, so this is good. @Hetzner_OL (but a…

(Quote) Didn’t know they use EPYC. Are both London and Amsterdam on your network?

Thanks @MikeA

Thanks, Germany though ;)

Thanks @vyas, definitely is an option (although I'm not a fan of OVH in any other dc than RBX to be honest). @MikeA Is this still active?

(Quote) It was a dispute, sorry for not mentioning that (mentioned it in this thread, but that's probably 3 pages earlier by now).

I just got a message from PayPal that my payment to HostDoc will be reimbursed proportionally. Bit faster than expected and it's already refunded to my creditcard as well.

What do you mean with 'the best connection'? All German VM's I have (on B&K, First Colo and Hetzner network) go to this network through transit providers (DTAG, Cogent and Telia). However, because almost all tier 1 providers seem to peer with Ch…

(Quote) Either this or the big manufacturers should start making Ryzen/Threadripper boards and servers.

Found this bench at the other forum.

Sounds good! Is this NVMe or regular SSD (probably know the answer, but still)?

I’m using VPN Unlimited for 4 years now and I’m still happy with them. Speeds are good (better than NordVPN which I used simultaneously for 2 years). The 5 device rule is not really a show stopper for me.

(Quote) Well I’ve been proven wrong about the reason, so this was clearly not the consideration. Still, if you have the resources not selling them because you use them yourself means you get less revenue.
-
(Quote) Resources allocated to the forum aren’t available for customers. So it basically costs him money.

The only thing that I’m afraid of as an end user is that overselling will increase. More users per core could become the new revenue model due to this pricing.
