(Quote) Thing is, the template is built from that VM. If there is swap, it will created for every VM that uses that template thereafter. So, my question is; do you really need it? Would it be possible to run it with only 128mb later on (no swap)? …

(Quote) Removing all not needed services, only run what is absolutly neccesary, bring down the memory usage, clean all caches. Here is a link to get you started: https://talk.lowendspirit.com/discussion/292/what-do-you-want-to-see-in-a-minimal-temp…

(Quote) You used to use: cachethq.io, what made you change? They seem very similar, could you point out why Staytus is "better" ?

Habe you tried to reinstall? Migration can be a b*tch sometimes.

(Quote) I wont call you a hypocrite, I agree that Twitter is a good way to reach out, but it won’t reach 100% of your user base. Nor will Facebook or any other social media platform or discord. I’m leaning towards getting a proper status page, eve…

(Quote) 0 SEK Using a 100 free sensor installation plus my current workplace installation with unlimited sensors. My 2 cents, the best alternative when it comes to self hosted monitoring tools.

(Quote) I already have a HA installation of PRTG :)

Thing is with emails, I don’t want to save all emails on multiple instances. If the billing panel goes down, it will be a challenge to get the current list to email. (I know, get a database backup, sql to extract the addresses and send it). I’m l…

(Quote) I hope that with one of the existing status page alternatives, I could automate the status from my monitoring. Node goes down, status page is updated.

(Quote) I’ve had a few bounces when it comes to email and there is always the few that makes their voice heard about ”not getting the email”.

(Quote) I did a PoC with a wordpress installation back when LES NAT vps were only 64mb. Iirc, ~3 plugins and very few pages/posts. 256mb should be good enough if you optimize it a bit.

@jvnadr Or use a service like mailgun with their alternative email ports for sending. With some thinking ”out of the box”, you might even use them for incomming emails. ;)

@jvnadr Unless you block outbound smtp on the node, it wont be a problem sending the occasional email from a nat container.

(Quote) Still, the rule is there for a reason. It’s better this way around then the other? Instead of waiting for it to happen and then try to take action.

(Quote) There is always sending, even though smtp (outbound) is blocked over ipv4, there is always ipv6 (not blocked)
