I thought of creating this thread as the title above suggests. Some Beta programs are not exactly free, but several providers offer a free upgrade to beta testers. Or they offer discounts and you are able to use the tools that otherwise would cost substantially higher than $ 7.
My recommendations -July 2020
I have been toying around with the two following tools recently. They are-

Cleaver Cloud - similar to Runcloud or Server Avatar Link: https://cleaver.cloud
Both are in beta, and in particular I am rather impressed by Pixelied. You can create, resize, edit images, download JPG, PNG or transparent PNGs. I have used the assets for production grade work - images for our podcasts, social media, blog and some posts on LES.
Cleaver is a little quirky - required Ubuntu 20.04 (only) and that might not be up to everyone's tastes. But
worth a try- I recall a few posts in which folks were interested in learning more about /trying out some fo the tools like Runcloud.
Rather than plan vanilla WP or CMS "x" only - you get a bit of a choice including node.js

how about moss.sh, generous (for now, maybe?) free plan, which is similar to runcloud, but without the optimizations.
There is a product in Beta testing called "SolusVM" that is almost stable enough to use for provisioning virtual servers. It's a classic PHP/MySQL application that really takes you back in the 2000s - complete with brand new bugs to discover weekly. The parent company actually has two VM provisioning products in Beta currently, unless "solus.io" is still considered to be in the Alpha stage. Both are fairly pricey despite being in the testing phase, though each one has a trial period if you want to try the software.

As SolusVM is to virtualisation, CWP is to control panels. Available for production deployment but very much beta in updates, lusers as Guinea Pigs, obscured code and secret changes.

They made a bunch of updates this week, the new version is very nice to use as well.. this is one too lI would happily pay to use once they launch and if pricing is LE friendly

been trying out Socialit.io - Social Media Automation tool.
The founder(s) are offering the tool for free, looking to make money from offering premium services. I have my doubts about long term viability of that idea, but good for them if they can pull it off!
