Open Source Server Organization tool

Hey there,

So I just released my super simple web-based server organization tool, which should replace my spreadsheet tables.

It doesn't require a database, just some shared hosting or a basic LAMP stack.
But please don't expose this to the public without a httpasswd or ip restriction since there is no authentification on the frontend/ API and no input validation.

There is a small uptime check included, if the hostname of the host is up, the icon on the left will turn green.
(Requires exec enabled)

I'd love to hear some input to improve the functionality.

Thanks!

Looks nice! I'll check it out soon.
You should post this to r/selfhosted, they'll love it!

Much better than a spreadsheet :)

As far as suggestions, possibility of keeping the add server box open after clicking "Add" for bulk servers?

    Done!
Just run git pull if you've cloned via Github or just replace the existing files and keep your "/data" folder

  • I haven't used it so far but I have some ideas which might be interesting for others too

    • add an option to add a "ports" column as many of us do have some NAT vps idling
    • let users add the due date of payment in combination with the billing term you could show and small warning
    • maybe add a field to put in a link to the control panel

In the future you could also add another section to keep track of domains.

I know, many of these ideas could also be done with the notes field, but maybe there is a demand for it. Feel free to implement or not. Still a nice idea though <3

That's a good idea. In my spreadsheet I manually check it all but something where it's like £5/month to paid on the 1st of each month maybe you can just click a button saying "paid" and it auto generates the next due date based on the period.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll think about it :)

  • I just installed the script and tried to set the default order by name but I couldn't find out how to do so. Currently it bothers me that its not ordering by the name of the servers but instead of something else?

You can click most of the values on your table heading and it will sort for that value

I would really like to publish this to the public or download an uneditable HTML version to publish.
