You'd think Intel would have gotten themselves a clear direction by now.
But they haven't got a clue still. At least, that's my impression.
Is 10nm desktop CPU coming? Or what? Make up your bloody mind, Intel. They also claim that 7nm CPU is on track for late 2020. Are they talking about mobile 7nm again or what?
No direction at all and they are just talking outta their arse.

as I said in 2019, Intel is the new Apple, still offering good products, but they lost the edge
perhaps they will launch something similiar in 6 months 1 year to compensate saying they wanted to offer a 'quality' product and this is why they waited, and then the Intel trolls will come and tell us how great they are, but unfortunately its who launches first, not who launches after 6 months some knock off to keep up with the pressure
Intel is not Apple yet because they aren't removing features and they are not selling CPU IHS for 999 dollars yet.
The next iphone may not have any ports and may completely wireless. It's just floating gossips but Apple has shown that they sometimes follow those gossips.
I wonder what words of wisdom Ivanka imparted to the audience ...
"A single swap file or partition may be up to 128 MB in size. [...] [I]f you need 256 MB of swap, you can create two 128-MB swap partitions." (M. Welsh & L. Kaufman, Running Linux, 2e, 1996, p. 49)

How many decades have AMD suffered just to get back to today
I bench YABS 24/7/365 unless it's a leap year.
For sure!
Btw, useless #PS5 teaser @ #CES2020
SONY #SonyCES new car is amazing, Vision-S! #CES2020
The last time AMD was this smug was when they had Athlon XP series.
So, me thinks about 1 and half decade.
This time though, Intel ain't catching up any time soon. Core 2 Duo type of CPU ain't coming from Intel this round.

The Intel conference was bloody boring.
It's CES and they were spending it all on AI and XEON's.

It's excellent for us, the consumers, to see this battle finally giving results. Prices have never been so low for such horsepower.
I do have to admit, AMD is damn amazing.
Those of us with several-year-old Android phones which still have support for SD cards and headphone jacks? Mmmmh Yes.
My pronouns are asshole/asshole/asshole. I will give you the same courtesy.
Ha. Even my barely new phone has it still, and it's something I don't want to get rid of, headphone jacks that is.
Pretty embarrassing when your bluetooth disconnects and that hardcore tranny porn interrupts everyone else on the bus.

Didn't make it out to CES this year sad panda, however will be interesting to see how it is for next year when we go.

CES is what you kids call COMDEX, right?

That bring back memories. ;-)

It appears that COMDEX is now owned by Interop, brought to you by informa, the people who own WHT.
Much as with Atlassian - this is why we can't have nice things. Might just be a redirect/squat purchase since COMDEX quit in the early 2000s.

Yeah, I'm sure they just bought the brand.
It really is sad, though - Those flying toasters of the 90s deserve better!

@Francisco AMD Slabs when?
Free NAT KVM | Free NAT LXC
This month...
We'll do a full announcement but at the end of this month we'll put out some 3900x based nodes w/ NVME storage, 10Gbit uplinks, in Vegas.
If the beta goes well we'll do a mass replacement & upgrade to all Slice customers in LV within 60 days with NY being in April/May.
Francisco
Wooot, that'd be crazy!
If you have service in LV you can request to be migrated to those nodes to help test/etc at the end of the month.
The test will run for 1 month looking for any problems with the setup. If we're happy, it's go time.
Francisco
Just deploy me a test vm and I will do it. ;-)
