The Jackery web site says their powerbank supports "pass through" but I guess there could still be some switchover interruption. I sent them an email inquiring. It seems like a nice unit in many ways so it will be cool if it can work as a UPS. Otherwise you might replace your lead acid UPS pack with a lithium iron phosphate battery. Those will withstand a lot of cycles etc., though they are less energy dense than portable-style 18650 cells. Or just put in a deep cycle lead acid battery.
They are two kind of passthrough. Dumb passthrough where it charges while powering things (awfully bad for its battery) and smart passthrough where it bypasses its battery and goes straight to its invertor.
I heard Jakery makes quality stuff, so pretty sure, if it does support passthrough, it will be the later but with one AC outlet, I'd be forced to use an extension cord, resulting the whole setup looking really ghetto.
I've considered replacing existing SLA batteries with batteries from these guys: https://dakotalithium.com/our-batteries/
But I've decided against it for one reason; the way current UPS charges its battery. It would literally destroy lithium batteries if directly replaced.

I got a response from Jackery: you can't use their box as a UPS as you have to press the power switch to switch from passthrough to battery power. Oh well. I'm still unclear on what's wrong with using a AGM or gel or other deep cycle SLA battery in your UPS.

For me it’s a weight issue as it needs to be mounted high.

So I was planning on modding the one I got not to be in parallel however when doing some research it seems I also bought one that regularly catches fire while discharging more than 1A.
lucky miss, so i am just going to buy a couple of TOMO's and be done with it.

A pity. I'd have thought this would have been just the thing:

So, 555 monstable it is?
