(Quote) I'd probably get a confused look and say, "Come again?"

(Quote) My service on PHXZ001 is online fine.

(Quote) You decide to get rid of that one you let me know. :)

(Quote) Your risk tolerance is higher than mine. There's always network upgrades, provider maintenance, etc... that happen. Over the last few years even Amazon has had multiple regional outages of half a day or more. If my reputation is on the line …

(Quote) You say, "where you would be losing money or reputation if they were offline," but for serious production use you shouldn't be in that situation anyway. Would it be perfectly appropriate for serious production use as a single-node …

(Quote) As a person with several of those, I'm going to say he isn't putting that kind of effort into getting rid of us. :) I don't expect it should cost you anything since your current one won't work on the location you're at. Will it take a while…

(Quote) My VM on SEAZ005 has an IP same net as @FrankZ and works fine. @xyz, Curious, what IP does your panel show in the the Main IP's field.

I don't know if anybody else here had issues outstanding with the NYCB034X migrations but my system finally came back ( apparently a couple weeks ago ). If you had one, it's worth taking a look.

(Quote) I agree, as I believe @Virmach does, that having more staff would be a Good Thing (tm). He's stated before he has tried/is trying to hire additional people but has been hampered by a number of factors including finding help during a pandemic…

(Quote) They can ask anything they want just as I'm free to ignore them. The inability or unwillingness to tell me my transgression is more troubling. Telling me it is "high" without any sort of reference point is silly. You have to have a…

(Quote) When recurring is used without a qualifier it's generally assumed to be forever but you can limit it as shown above. Quarterly - Recurs 4x - four quarters is one year. semi-annually - Recurs 2x - two half-yearly recurrences is one year.

(Quote) No, it recurs as documented for a certain number of iterations. It's accurate.

(Quote) I thought you said you were incorporated in the EU. ;-)

(Quote) So it's proxying/forwarding arp requests instead of masquerading them?

(Quote) I have and truly I do get your point. I have a couple tickets open for weeks/months. My point is that the forms need to be observed. PayPal chargeback is the final option if client and host can't work out a solution - you haven't tried yet.

(Quote) Have you asked for a refund and been denied or just decided to go straight for the nuclear option? (Quote) It hasn't been burned until there's a PayPal dispute. People say all kinds of things - and they're completely serious - until those c…

(Quote) I read that post and thought to myself, "Oh there's a reason". Then saw you had it covered.... :)

Take a dual stack you already have and delete the ipv4. BAM IPv6 only vps. free.

(Quote) Yeah, I was more surprised at how comprehensive Spotify is apparently. I've always figured if I couldn't find it then they wouldn't bother having it either.
-
(Quote) Interesting ... what sort of stuff you listening to that you can find on Spotify but not from 'other sources'?
-
(Quote) Quite welcome, sir. I've been quite happy with mine thus far.

I did but recently converted over to Navidrome. Plex ( as is normal for them ) made a design decision that they feel are obvious but annoys me. You can't have a playlist longer than 24h.

(Quote) You have an interest in getting some direct experience? Toss me a public key and I'll let you poke around on the one I just picked up.

(Quote) So sending email is so vital to your use-case that the only way you'd do it is for free. At a guess, you're not who the offer is aimed it ... or perhaps it is. :p

(Quote) Not really clued in on Netmaker but why is a VPN service generating so much disk IO?

(Quote) If swapping OS is an option, go Debian. Those are my two. If it's greater than ~512M then it's Alma/Rocky. If it's 512M or less then it's Debian. Ubuntu's getting too into that whole snaps thing. (Quote) I've still got a couple 256M NAT box…

Rats, forgot my footnote. 1 - You can *patch a kernel if you've got Ksplice/Kpatch/whatever Oracle calls it. In certain circumstances heavy wizards can do funky stuff including swap live kernels according to the ancient texts - I've never done it.

(Quote) Yup, it's ... minimal ... but it works in tiny amounts of ram. YUM/DNF aren't designed for small amounts of ram in my experience. It's just not something they're concerned with. (Quote) Depending on how quickly you want to run a command, ta…

I have one machine which does that. I just use microdnf instead.

(Quote) No need to apologize. I only mentioned it so you could improve. I hoped it would be taken in that vein. (Quote) I like you - you're funny. I'm not entirely certain it's intentional but I got a good laugh out of it anyway so why quibble. (Q…

(Quote) Honestly, I'm not really concerned. It was pretty ugly at the beginning. It's calmed down quite a bit and is pretty stable at this point. Not perfect obvioulsy but it's not something I worry about. Saying you have five down doesn't say anyth…
